Fire Up the Caravan and Take the Time to Travel the UK this Summer

Finally, the summer is almost here. We’ve made it through these past cold, few months to be rewarded with warm, sunny days in only a few weeks. Don’t forget to start making your summer holiday plans now before it is too late. Caravan parks season is here, so it’s a good time to look ahead, get out the road maps and plan your next holiday homes trip in your caravan.

Wales

Some of my favorite holiday parks UK to visit are the ones scattered throughout the rough yet beautiful Welsh landscape. Wales, with its high mountains, deep valleys, rivers, and marshes, is well-known throughout the world as one of the premier places to caravan. It offers a completely unique experience for holiday travelers both new and old thanks to its deep, rich history and heritage. Were you aware that the country of Wales is the homeland of the Arthurian legend? You don’t want to miss seeing the tree where Merlin is supposed to lie sleeping.

Scotland

For another fantastic UK treat, you can visit the lowlands, highlands and islands of Scotland. It truly is a country of rugged rustic beauty. The Scottish men and women are friendly, hospitable, and kind. This is one place you’ll be sure to book a luxury lodges UK room at. It isn’t difficult to get caught up in the culture of Scotland.

The Scottish cuisine is unique, but the food tastes much better than it sounds! You’ll also be treated to an ornate display of bagpipes and kilts, Highland games and Scottish single-malt whiskey. As you travel the highways to your next luxury lodges UK destination in Scotland, be sure to make a point in saying hello to Nessie in the Loch Ness.

England

You can’t go caravanning across the UK without spending time in England. England is broken up into two basic sections but each offers their own distinct travel destinations and sites. For example, Northern England is the home of the famous Lake District of Cumbria, from where the English Romantic poets Byron, Wordsworth, and Shelley drew inspiration for their timeless poems.  You’ll also come across dozens of towns along the countryside where standing stones were erected in the past.

Southern England is home to the remnants of Sherwood Forest, only a pale shadow of the immense old-growth forest of Robin Hood tales. Â Be sure to visit the dozens of castles and castle remains from a millennium of history, ranging from the concentric rings of earthwork foundations left over from the wooden fortresses of Saxons, to the relatively new castles of the Normans.
